This month you'll get the chance to paint your own pottery.
SNAG YOUR SPOT ON SATURDAY, MAY 31st
No ceramics experience required - just let your creativity flow! You'll get to choose from a selection of pre-made unique speckled stoneware pieces and make them your own. This time round I'll have handle-less cups, snack bowls, and other assorted dishes.

YES, you will see more than just paint your own pottery workshops this summer! Actually this might be the last Paint Your Own Pottery Class for the next few months. |

I’ve got a few other ideas up my sleeves that I can’t wait to share with you guys when the time is right (pssst there will be a pinch pot workshop SOON!)
Fun fact, it typically takes me about a month to make a batch of items start to finish. Getting a whole kiln load of items thrown, trimmed, bisque fired, decorated, and glaze fired (not to mention a handful of other steps!) takes a hot minute. I’ve been tempted to plan a workshop schedule for the whole summer, but turns out lining up firings with the rest of my workflow is proving to be a greater challenge than I thought it would be! SO, as I plan workshop opportunities for you guys I’m keeping my schedule (aka sanity) in mind. Please be patient with me as I work out all the kinks!

If you follow me on IG you will have spied my little studio reno - I painted a wall green! Walking down the stairs into my space got a serious facelift :) But it’s not just for looks!
This green cabinet will have a small rotating stock of items (and seconds) available for purchase! Come pop in & take a look for yourself. Or just pop in and say hi :) |

Looking to get your hands on some homemade ceramics? You're in luck - Sioux Lookout Chamber Farmer's Markets start in May!
Friday, May 30th, 10:00am - 2:00pm @ The Town Beach
The first market of the year set a fantastic tone for the year! It was so great to see everyone who came out for the Easter Market put on by the Rec Centre. I made my way to Thunder Bay for the Spring Craft Revival at the beginning of May as well. What a fantastic event! (sidenote, if anyone has any market suggestions, shoot me a message! It’s tough keeping track of the NWO market scene and all their varying waitlists)

BECAUSE LIFE ISN'T ALWAYS PERFECT, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT SHOULDN'T BE CELEBRATED! |

|
- Gave myself permission to have an entire day of studio play. No work-ish expectations.
- Went for my first run in 2+ years. Didn’t die.
- Cried happy tears while drinking my first morning coffee outside.
- Froze my toes while contemplating jumping in the lake. Decided not to freeze the rest of my body.
- Rewatched Grace & Frankie (Frankie is my spirit animal FYI)

Some of you might already know this, but I bought a building on front street (WAIT what… yes! Those rumours are true!). My brother, SIL, and I purchased the building that Red Brick Cafe is in! (there seems to be some speculation that we bought the cafe.. Nope. Guys, we just own the building). The plan is to turn that space into a cozy welcoming workshop space.. eventually! As much as I would love to go big and hit the ground running with that right away, it’s just not in the cards for Oh Hey Ceramics quite yet! I’m happy with my current setup and plan to be here for a couple more years. |
That's all for know, folks! For day-to-day studio mishaps, dance moves, and happy kiln surprises go follow me on instagram @ohheyceramics
Choose happy,
☺︎Steph
