WHAT'S NEW?

Will I be running The Great Bean Hunt again this summer? Uhh, Obviously!

I've run the Great Bean Hunt for the last 3 years and you better believe I'll be doing it again this year!

UM WHAT THE HECK IS THE GREAT BEAN HUNT?

I hide this rock (aka The Great Bean) somewhere in town and post daily cryptic clues pointing you in the right direction. Whoever finds the bean wins a prize!

Okay but for real - this hunt is HARD. IYKYK.

I look forward to this every year! I legit get SO MUCH JOY knowing so many of you run around town for a whole week looking for a rock. haha! Get excited.

PS. June 13th is TOMORROW!

I'll be BC-bound, so you'll find my mom set up on my behalf. You're in luck, she is planning on bringing a selection of her rope bowls & solar lights, too!

Markets are the best way to shop my ceramics! If you're in town you should definitely make the time to come check out all the local vendors & support local. I always have new items at markets!

This might be old news at this point, but the transition from hobby potter to full-time still feels like a dream I’m going to wake up from. I moved out of Kat’s basement to my current studio space last June. JUNE! It’s been a year, and I still can’t believe I get to do this everyday. Don’t get me wrong - there certainly are days that feel just like any other job… dragging, unfocused, and just UGH. Working alone in a basement in Jan/Feb wasn't ideal, let me tell you. But, gosh golly, a year later and somehow it’s working! I’m still equal parts excited, terrified, constantly thinking about work, and so free! I love having the opportunity to make pots for you lovely humans, and giving myself the freedom to take off when I want is a nice perk, too. On that note...

I'm going sailing!

I have the incredible opportunity to join my sister and her fam on a 5 day sailing trip up the BC coast and I'm PUMPED about it! So BRB for the next week - I'll be off grid and doing something new - two of my favourite things!

TINY VICTORIES

BECAUSE LIFE ISN'T ALWAYS PERFECT, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT SHOULDN'T BE CELEBRATED!

  • My patio is summer ready and I'm HERE FOR IT.
  • I'm planning a canoe camping trip with my mom and I couldn't be more excited for it!
  • Lilac season has flowed seamlessly into lupin season, and it makes my heart sing
  • I finished some custom orders - LATE, but they are finished!
  • I'm packing an entire suitcase of pottery to bring with me to BC - you guys are the best!

That's all for know, folks! For day-to-day studio mishaps, dance moves, and happy kiln surprises go follow me on instagram @ohheyceramics
